Another unique aspect of University Prep Academy is that traditional teacher/parent conferences have been replaced with Exhibitions.
An Exhibition is a time for each student to showcase his or her work accomplished during the last quarter. Typically, all exhibitions are scheduled over the course of one week, with each student receiving an assigned time to present. The students present their work to their classmates, parents and advisor.
Afterward, the advisor meets privately with the parents and student to discuss the presentation and compare it to the student's Individualized Learning Plan that was developed. Successes are celebrated, areas still needing work are identified and decisions made about how to accomplish them, and new benchmarks are set for the upcoming quarter.
