As much as
possible, “narratives” are used instead of, or in addition to, traditional
letter grades. A narrative reflects more concretely where the student is
excelling, as well as which specific areas need improvement. The narratives are
developed from the weekly one-on-ones the advisors have with each student. This is just one more way advisors
provide personalized feedback that has specific meaning that can guide each student’s
next steps towards graduating from high school and going onto college.
